The Landhaus Beckmann bears its roots in the name: agriculture
It all started with them on the Kalkarer Römerstraße. The Joosten family, whose farm was first mentioned in a document in 1850, laid the foundation stone for the family business. In the 19th century, the Joosten family worked as licensed barkeepers, farmers and millers. At this time, after the church service, homemade schnaps were sold at the farm. Son in law, Hermann Beckmann, took over the farm in the third generation, until 1969, with agriculture as the main occupation.
