Moyland Castle

A picture-perfect moated castle, with plenty of Beuys, modern art, and a sculpture garden to linger in. Between the moat, exhibition, and park, you can easily spend half a day here.

Museum Kurhaus Kleve

Art meets spa town: The former bathing temple now houses international modern art and offers a beautiful view of the historic forest garden.

Kleve Gardens and Amphitheater

Inspired by Versailles: baroque sightlines, statues, waterways, tulip trees. The perfect place for walks with a view. Especially beautiful in June (tulip tree!) and during the Festival of Lights in September.

Kleve & Schwanenburg Castle

Mountain panorama in the Lower Rhine? It exists! Kleve is located on an Ice Age terminal moraine and welcomes you with castle views, cafés, boutiques, and old avenues. Definitely: climb the Schwanenturm (Swan Tower).

Kröller-Müller Museum

Art enjoyment in the national park: Van Gogh, Mondrian, Monet, and a sculpture park in the middle of the forest. All in the Dutch Veluwe, about an hour away.

Kalkar City Tour

Exciting: guided tours through the old town with old houses, history, and plenty of flair. Tours usually start at the market square.

Kalkar Municipal Museum

Small but exquisite. Featuring works by the Düsseldorf School and Rhenish Expressionists. A real insider tip for art fans.

Rhine Museum Emmerich

More than 150 ship models, ship accessories, ship lamps – plus a one-man submarine. The Rhine Museum shows how closely the region is connected to the river.

Hiking around Landhaus Beckmann

You don’t need mountains for sweeping views. On the Lower Rhine, it’s all about the wide horizon. From Landhaus Beckmann, you can quickly reach quiet paths between fields, rivers and wooded areas—ideal for relaxed tours and long walks.

Our Recommendations

Marienbaum High Forest

Just a few minutes away, the High Forest invites you to enjoy long walks. Four signposted hiking trails and six cycling routes lead through peaceful, dense nature. Maps are available at our reception.

Moyland Forest

This charming forest with a well-developed circular path is ideal for a relaxing break. Right next to the Moyland Country Golf Club.

Reichswald Forest

In the largest contiguous forest in North Rhine-Westphalia, you can spend hours exploring. Maps are available at our reception.

Kalkarer Oy

Start in Kalkar and enjoy a walk through a typical Lower Rhine landscape. Willow trees, meadows, and wide-open spaces included.

Niers Hiking Trails

Along the Niers, you’ll find numerous quiet hiking trails with views of the Lower Rhine landscape – for example, at “Jan an de Fähr” between Uedem and Goch.

Walking along the Rhine

Start in Rees and enjoy the dike path with an unobstructed view of the water – perfect for a short Rhine getaway.

Prince Moritz Trail & Voltaire Trail

This cultural-historical route leads you through gardens, floodplain landscapes, and to Moyland Castle, where Frederick the Great and Voltaire once met.

E8 Long-Distance Hiking Trail

The European long-distance hiking trail E8 runs from the Irish Sea almost to the Turkish border and passes directly by the hotel. Ideal if you like to think further – or hike further.
