The Landhaus (country house) Beckmann bears its roots in the name: agriculture. It all started with farming at the Römerstraße (roman road). Family Joosten, whose farm was first documented in 1850, laid the foundation stone of the family business. At that time, after the church service, homemade schnaps was sold at the farm. In the 19th and 20th century the Joostens worked as licensed barkeeper, farmer and miller at the spot were our guesthouse is located. Hermann Beckmann took over the yard and kept it going with agriculture being the main occupation.

The innkeeper and hotelier couple Hermann and Else Grosse Holtforth, née Beckmann, continued to run the business. In 1969 they turned the farmhause into a restaurant and expanded by building the hotel in 1980.

Since 2005 Michael and Sabine Grosse Holtforth head the family hotel. Together with their team they guarantee tradition and quality.
